The Electronic Shoe Box

Shoeboxes make wonderful storage containers. I love going through old shoeboxes. You might find some old letters, baseball cards, and maybe some money that has taken a vaction from the economy. My laptop has its shoeboxes too. They are the old file folders where papers and projects from classes forgeten rest. Today I opened up a file and I would like to share some words written in a day long forgotten.

I saw your face today
It looked different
There was love in your eyes
Something I couldn’t see before

Your hands looked different today
So did your side

I guess that is what happens to your body when you die
Die upon a cross
To save people
Who are lost

But lost from what? Or where?
Am I on a journey?
A voyage to a place unknown?

Why the cross?
Why the pain?
Why the lost?

Would I tread the path you took?
Would I sip the drink?
A poison
A prescription
A remedy for the pain

I can now look into your face
I can now see the love in your eyes
I take your hand
You take mine

Saving grace
